I thought I'd have a go at sketching a morepork (New Zealand ruru bird) after dinner on A4 photocopy paper - Staedler black fineliner. These live around our house, although this sketch is from a photo. I wasn't sure if there was even any point trying to sketch it with a fineliner, but I quite like how this turned out. Unfortunately I sketched it on the back of one of my shopping lists so no point framing it. Luckily the woodenpost covered up the tea mug stains.

Some pastel portraits. I prefer using the wrong side of the paper above. I did some studies on the right side of the Canson pastel paper below, just to try it out.
